I received an email the other day requesting instructions and or a video on how I make my surface lures! What would you have done?
I politely replied, that It would be next to impossible to explain the many steps required to make a surface lure via email and that producing a video on the subject was not in my best interests.
I did suggest, however, that trial and error was the way I had perfected the many techniques required to produce a successful timber surface lure and that if he persisted with the inevitable failures, (I had many) the satisfaction of landing a Murray Cod on one of his creations would be well worth the effort!
To my amazement, he replied to my email, thanking me for taking the time to reply to his email and that he would let me know how things pan out. I look forward to seeing how this story progresses!
Below: Start with a prototype and then iron out all the bugs!
This is not the person who sent me the email, but a fishing fanatic who has been bitten by the surface lure bug and decided to create his own!! Well done Ricky!
